Illinois Student Assistance Commission Scholarships and Grants
  Among the grants and scholarships available to students are:
 
  • Merit Recognition Scholarship (MRS) Program
  • Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) Scholarship Program
  • ITEACH Teacher Shortage Scholarship Program (formerly the David DeBolt Teacher Shortage Scholarship Program)
  • Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program
  • Illinois Special Education Teacher Tuition Waiver Program

Applicants will need to print out the form(s) for postal mailing to the indicated address. Current deadlines are indicated on the respective scholarship forms.

  University of Illinois Children of Veterans Scholarship
   

Applications for the Children of Veterans Scholarship are now available online. Please refer to the web site http://www.osfa.uiuc.edu/ click on Forms and the application is located in the scholarship category. The applicant will need to print out the application and mail it to the Office of Student Financial Aid, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with the required documents.

The Children of Veterans scholarship is a four-year tuition waiver at the University of Illinois. The recipient may use his/her Children of Veterans Scholarship at any of the University of Illinois campuses: Urbana-Champaign, Chicago or Springfield. Up to six scholarships are awarded per county - one for each of the following wars/conflicts: World War II, Korean Conflict, Vietnam Conflict, and Southwest Asia (Persian Gulf - Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom). Specific information regarding the required service dates and medal eligibility is provided on the application itself.

We will accept applications for scholarships between December 1 and March 1 of the current year. Late applications will be considered only if no other qualified candidates apply by March 1 of the current year. Candidates must submit the completed application with photocopies of both the veteran parent's service papers (DD Form 214) and his/her ACT scores are required to be submitted to the Office of Student Financial Aid, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Please note that this scholarship is not for grandchildren of veterans. All candidates will be notified by April 1 (of current year) whether they have been selected to receive the Children of Veterans Scholarship.  If you have any questions, phone (217) 333-0100.

The following steps may be taken to complete the application:

  1. This file can be completed with Adobe Reader.
  2. Save a copy of the appropriate scholarship in its PDF format to an easily located folder on the hard-drive of your computer or storage device. Use the "Save As..." option.  The saved copy can be completed, piecemeal, at a time(s) of your greater convenience.  Be sure to save the file as you proceed.
  3. Follow all the detailed steps listed on the scholarship of choice, filling in the required fields.
  4. When complete, save and print the application.
  5. Sign and date where required.
  6. All required and completed paperwork should be land mailed via USPS.
   

 

 
   
LaSalle County Voiture No. 378-40 & 8 Nursing Scholarship
 
 
Application Deadline: May 26, 2022
 
 

LaSalle County Regional Superintendent of Schools, Christopher B. Dvorak, has announced that the LaSalle County Voiture No. 378-40 & 8 will again this year sponsor a nursing scholarship.

A completed application form and a letter from the student requesting consideration as a recipient of the scholarship are required. A transcript of school records and a letter of acceptance into the nursing program of the college to be attended must be submitted with each letter. The letter of application should be addressed to the "Scholarship Committee of the LaSalle County Voiture 378-40 & 8."

This scholarship is open only to residents of LaSalle County.

Scholarship applications will be available in the office of the Regional Superintendent of Schools, 119 W. Madison Street, Room 102, Ottawa, Illinois. Applications should be returned to the Regional Superintendent's office no later than a date to be determined.

COLLEGE STUDENT UNDERGRADUATE TRUST SCHOLARSHIP

 Rev. L.L. Henkel established a Trust which is administered by Heartland Bank and Trust Company Wealth Management Department for the purpose of providing tuition assistance to students from LaSalle County, Illinois, pursuing undergraduate degrees at accredited colleges and universities.

This non-renewable scholarship is open only to residents of LaSalle County, Illinois.

Application Due and Received in the Regional Office of Education by 4 pm, April 30, 2022.

On behalf of generous individuals, SRCCF administers a scholarship program each year to help students pursue their dreams and goals at colleges and universities following high school graduation. The Starved Rock Country Community Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2022 educational scholarships.

 

 

 Conservation Achievement Scholarship Program 2022

 The Illinois Conservation Foundation awards the annual Conservation Achievement Scholarship to encourage the next generation of leaders to preserve and enhance a sustainable outdoor environment.


Up to four one-time scholarships of $2,000 are given to outstanding high school seniors in Illinois who have demonstrated effective, voluntary and long-term dedication to the preservation, protection, enhancement and/or promotion of Illinois' natural resources.

The Conservation Achievement Scholarships have been awarded since 2005 thanks largely to generous donations from numerous organizations and individuals. A total of $146,000 has been awarded to 71 scholarship winners.

Applicants must be Illinois residents and a senior in an Illinois high school during the year of the scholarship award.
